 The music and the fashion of the suave and stylish Mr Bryan Ferry CBE – what’s not to love!

Analysis:  Singer, songwriter, Bryan Ferry was born in Washington, Co. Durham and known for his distinctive image and sartorial style. His shirt depicts hints from his life and is made from newspaper (Durham Times), reflecting the early years when he was a paperboy.

He studied fine art at Newcastle University under the celebrated artist, Richard Hamilton. Two of his bands included The Banshees and Roxy Music.  Awarded the CBE in 2011.  One of his favourite paintings is Olympia by Manet.  He was invited to tea by Salvador Dali - hence the melting watches plus he created a limited edition (100) watch for The Swiss watch company H. Moser & Cie . His love of pottery and ceramics. The song “2BH” (two Humphrey Bogart) was penned by Bryan and in return the band Madness recorded “4BF” – for Bryan Ferry. A fan of Jimi Hendrix.  City Stylish was the name of a shop he frequented for his fashionable clothes.    Advertising campaigns for M & S and H & M.  A strong supporter of Countryside Alliance. He performed for Live Aid in 1985 at Wembley. Slave to Love – just one of his many albums (which can be seen behind him).
